Bespoke mouldings were also manufactured for other areas of the property, including a new pool extension. Working closely with the client and designer, these were designed in a Georgian theme to flow consistently with the existing architecture. Ornate Interiors created niches, domes, columns, panelled and coffered ceilings and lanterns.
The client and designer were delighted with the results, and the work so impressed the judges from the FPDC Plaisterers’ Awards panel, that it attained a highly commended in the Fibrous and GRG Heritage Award for 2009.
The judges described the work as, ‘An excellent piece of restoration and reproduction, copying and extended existing cornices and column details into areas of new build. Harmonised and meticulously crisp elliptical lantern linings in a coffered ceiling, with no expense spared’.
